With many countries and states reviewing the federal laws of marijuana, it was just a matter of time until an app was developed which main focus is on cannabis. The new app called Social High has been launched and is available for download from the iTunes App Store.
Social High is aiming at targeting the audience of both medical and recreational cannabis users, this goes along with the idea that cannabis is fundamentally used as a social activity amongst various types of people throughout the world.
“The cannabis industry as a whole is driven by its strong sense of community, and we are proud to bring people a little closer together,” says Social High co-founder and CEO Scott Bettano in media reports, accompanying the announcement. “This app offers cannabis enthusiasts a safe place to interact and expand on their experiences, while also continuing to develop the cannabis culture as the marijuana taboo continues to be conquered.”
Amongst the many features that the new social media app offers is Weedcast, this enables users the option to post content and commentary similar to the News Feed interface of social media giant Facebook. There are a few slight differences such as your “Like” button on Facebook is a “Puff” button on Social High. If you wish to remove yourself from a specific thread or perhaps remove a particular user you select a button titled “Pass”.
The platform also offers some hard data tools. The Strain Search function allows interested parties to research various cannabis strains available through legal markets. The information is provided by Leafly, which bills itself as the world’s largest cannabis information resource.
Social High integrates with Facebook and Twitter if you want to move between platforms, or for more discrete encounters the app offers a private direct messaging system in which messages expire after 24 hours.
You can also set up a personal profile, in the manner of traditional social media accounts, and find other cannabis enthusiasts in your area.
